Licensing Process

NDSU Research Foundation is structured to make the licensing process simple and straightforward. You will be working with an experienced staff who will work with you to ensure that the process is accomplished smoothly and is custom designed to meet your specific requirements.

What we require from a potential licensee to ensure successful implementation of a license agreement:

1. Your company realizes the commercial benefits of licensing the NDSU/RF technology.
2. Company is capable to develop the novel and often early-stage technology and is willing to make an effort to commercialize it.
3. Company is willing to partake in reimbursing patent costs associated with the technology and paying licensing fees.
4. Company is willing to pay a reasonable royalty and thereby share some of its benefits of the commercial use of the technology.
