A selection of Asian white birch native to western China which has performed very well and has resisted bronze birch borer attack since 1975 in evaluations. Bark is white with blackish markings. Its broad, triangular-deltoid shaped leaves turn a golden-yellow in fall. Trees can be grown single or multi-trunked. This adaptable tree grows upright-oblong to semi-pyramidal in form, broadening somewhat with age. Available in commercial nursery trade. Prairie Vision® reaches a semi-mature height of 35 to 45 feet in 25 to 30 years. It is hardy in USDA Zone 3.
