Dakota Sunspot® Potentilla -- Potentilla fruticosa ‘Fargo’ (RFM-09)

Description

potentilla_in_landscapeA compact shrub that will mature at 2 ½ to 3 feet tall with a spread of 3 to 4 feet. Its leaves are bright green. The half inch wide leaves are distributed the full length of the branches. It flowers very profusely from late spring until killing frosts in late fall. The flowers are less than 1 inch across and are a deep golden color. Dakota Sunspot® is most like the cultivar ‘Hurstbourne’, but is more dwarf and has larger flowers. It will reach essentially mature size in 3 to 5 years. Available in nursery trade. Hardy in USDA Zone 2b-3. May well be the most floriferous flowering potentilla cultivar.
