Surface-segregating low surface energy coating for mitigating the adhesion of ice and fouling organisms

Invention Summary

Consumer demand for eco-friendly products is increasing, and stricter regulations are aimed at reducing VOC emissions. This trend is driving the need for environmentally friendly manufacturing coatings. In response to this shift, North Dakota State University has developed an innovative low-surface-energy compound that can function as a single-component moisture-cured coating. This coating provides low surface energy, which helps prevent the adhesion of ice and marine fouling organisms.
